At ALBRICH Academy, we believe in developing both mind and body, which is why we proudly include fencing in our Kindergarten and 1st Grade curriculum.

Enhances Focus & Strategic Thinking

Fencing requires quick decision-making, problem-solving, and mental agility.

Builds Confidence & Discipline

The sport teaches self-control, perseverance, and respect, shaping strong character.

Improves Coordination & Physical Fitness

Through precision, agility, and balance, students develop essential motor skills.

Encourages Resilience & Sportsmanship

Learning fair play and perseverance fosters a growth mindset.

What to Expect?

Kindergarten and 1st Grade students will practice once a week at school with their classmates, receiving expert instruction in a fun and structured environment.

Our fencing program is designed and overseen by Olympian and national champion Steve Kaplan, owner of Cobra Fencing Club in Jersey City, with classes led by master instructor Willy Loyola. Each session includes both group and one-on-one instruction, allowing fencers to progress at their own pace.

For students looking to advance their skills, beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level classes are available at Cobra Fencing Club for ALBRICH Academy alumni or those who want additional training.

Fencers will move through skill levels based on instructor assessments, competition participation, and performance. Every June, ALBRICH Academy will host the Cobra End-of-the-Year Competition, celebrating our students’ first year of fencing and their achievements!

Academy of Excellence Preschool - Fencing

By integrating fencing into our curriculum, ALBRICH Academy empowers young learners to think critically, move with purpose, and build lifelong confidence.
